How to live Authentically

The world is changing, it has always been, this is not new. If there’s one constant in life, it is change. We also change, our mind changes, as it should, but one thing that should remain the same, however, is that we should live life authentically, whatever that means for each of us. It’s easier said than done, be it because of societal expectations or our own view of what a successful life looks like, many of us end up with a lifestyle that might look good and right but feels disappointing and wrong. Self-awareness and clarity are crucial to determine how we want to spend our days.

In this busy world, that even if we’re not busy we make ourselves do something or consume something, it becomes incessantly rare to stop and listen. Because that is what we need, time to stop, to think and ponder on the way we want to live. It might seem unproductive but time doing nothing is the most productive thing we can do for ourselves and consequently for those around us. People living authentically are happy and content, they are lovely to be around and that ends up having a ripple effect.

Know thyself

Homework To Do List

  • Spend time alone, doing nothing, to learn about yourself.
  • Journal your thoughts and opinions across many subjects.
  • Ask friends and relatives about how they see you in the future, so you have an idea of how you come across.
  • Interview yourself on paper to make yourself think about things that never even crossed your mind.
  • Daydream and visualise how your ideal day to day would look and feel like to get familiar with the reality you want to live.

”Doing nothing is the most productive thing we can do for ourselves…”
